The College of Health and Human Services of Southeast Missouri State University is responsible for the administration of department and programs in the health and human service fields, and is composed of department committed to an interdisciplinary model of education and performance.  The curricula and programs of the College require a mastery of knowledge and problem solving ability that is basic to human growth, development, and healthy functioning.  The undergraduate and graduate programs of the college prepare ethical professionals equipped to provide services in a variety of settings, including businesses, homes, schools, hospitals, and community, social and justice agencies.  The College was founded in 1989 at Southeast, and currently has 64 full-time faculty members and over 1800 majors.

 

The programs of the college emphasize:

*  A liberal arts education as well as professional programs;

*  Interactive relationships between theory and practice;

*  Active experiential learning through independent study, practicum's and internships;

*  Skills in technology, communication, critical thinking and value decisions as they apply to

    the health and human services professions.
