NEW INTERNATIONAL STUDENT INFORMATION

Transportation:

Airports:

  • Lambert International Airport, St Louis, Missouri (STL) is about 120 miles from Cape Girardeau

  • Cape Girardeau Regional Airport, Cape Girardeau, Missouri (CGI)

Please fax your itinerary at least two business days prior to your arrival and we will reserve a seat on BART (Bootheel Area Regional Transportation) shuttle for you from the St. Louis airport. The arrival guide was included in your admission package.  If you will be coming in to the Cape Girardeau airport, please give us your itinerary at least one business day prior to your arrival.

Please remember that if we do not receive your itinerary ahead of time, there may not be a driver or seat for you. You can also e-mail us your flight information (date of arrival, departure from, time of departure, arrival, time of arrival, flight number and airline) at intadmit@semo.edu.

If you arrive at St. Louis, and you have faxed or e-mailed us your itinerary, arrangements have been made through Bootheel Area Regional Transportation or BART to pick you at the airport.

If you will be living in the residence hall and BART brings you to Cape Girardeau before 8:00 PM, you may go directly into your residence hall if you have already signed a contract or have contacted Residence Life and reserved a room.

If you will be living on campus and BART brings you to Cape Girardeau after 8:00PM, you will be brought to Victoria Inn & Suites for your first night.

Please note that if you are under 21, the university policy is that you MUST stay on campus. If you are under 21, please contact the Office of Residence Life to reserve a room in one of the residence halls on campus (If you have not done so already).

If you will living off campus, BART will take you to Victoria Inn & Suites, where you may choose to stay for a few days during orientation while you look for a place to live. If you are over 21, you have the choice of living off campus or you may choose to stay on campus in one of the residence halls. The contact information is listed above if you wish to stay on campus.

 We have made arrangements for the students to stay at the hotel at the cost of $ 30 a night. This amount is to be paid directly to the hotel by the student.

Shuttle Service:

 There will be two shuttles between Victoria Inn and Southeast Missouri State University International Center starting August 12th running on a schedule as follows

 August 12-17, 2009

9:00am - 1st Pick-up at Victoria Inn to get to SEMO Campus (International Center)

10:00am -2nd Pick-up at Victoria Inn to get to SEMO Campus (International Center)

4:00pm -- 1st Pick-up from SEMO Campus (International Center) to return to Victoria Inn

5:00pm -- 2nd Pick-up from SEMO Campus (International Center) to return to Victoria Inn

 August 18-20, 2009

9:00am - 1st Pick-up at Victoria Inn to get to SEMO Campus (International Center)

10:00am -2nd Pick-up at Victoria Inn to get to SEMO Campus (International Center)

5:00pm -- 1st Pick-up from SEMO Campus (International Center) to return to Victoria Inn

6:00pm -- 2nd Pick-up from SEMO Campus (International Center) to return to Victoria Inn

If you are unable to make these times, you will need to secure your own transportation to and from campus, to the New International Student Orientation.
