NEWLY ADMITTED STUDENTS


Congratulations on your admission to Southeast Missouri State University!

Welcome to Southeast Missouri State University. You have been accepted for a full course of study.  A full course of study is a minimum of 12 credit hours of study for undergraduate students (9 credit hours for graduate level students) in either the spring or fall semesters, regardless of visa type (F-1 or J-1).

Please use ARRIVAL GUIDE as your reference for comprehensive information on  obtaining a visa, making travel plans, making housing arrangements and transferring credit. Information regarding health insurance, orientation, university bills and Cape Girardeau may also be found here.

Key Steps Prior to arrival:

Obtain a Visa: This is your first step!

Make Travel Arrangements: Once you have made travel arrangements, if you want us to pick you up from either St. Louis Airport or Cape Girardeau Regional Airport, you must fax your itinerary to us by January 1st, 2010. The travel itinerary can be found in your acceptance packet. You may also download the travel itinerary form here and e-mail it to us at intadmit@semo.edu or fax it to us at 573-986-6866.

Activate your Southeast Key:

You can download these instructions to activate your Southeast Key. You will need your Southeast ID to activate your Southeast Key. This can be found in your acceptance letter. Additionally, you can use the portal after activating your Southeast Key to secure on campus housing online!

Housing:

University policy requires that you MUST live on campus (in the Residence Halls) unless:
You are living with immediate lineal relatives (parents or children, NOT cousins) or legal guardians who live in the Cape Girardeau area.
You are 21 years old or older.
You are married or have dependent children.
You have already completed at least 57 credit hours of University-level studies

If none of the above statements are true, you will be charged the fee for living in the Residence Halls automatically. You should immediately contact the
