Journey is an
annual
literary journal that publishes original writing by students of
Southeast Missouri State University. Submission is open to all
Southeast students, regardless of field of study.
The new issue is
usually available by the fall semester of each year. Copies are free to
Southeast students and can be picked up from the
Journey rack on the third floor near the elevator in
Grauel.
The origins of Southeast's literary magazine was
The Potboiler, which was first published in 1966 and lasted
for four issues. Our literary magazine was reborn in 1971 as Journey, and has been published yearly ever
since.
Journey is produced entirely by
Southeast students. Volunteers read
submissions, format the magazine using InDesign and
Photoshop, giving them hands-on publishing experience,
and prepare the issue for mailing. For
information on helping out, visit the Volunteer page.
