What is the NASA ERC?
Missouri's NASA Educator Resource Center is located at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. Having opened in November of 1999, the NASA ERC has been favorably received and continues to be a busy repository for NASA educational materials and programs.
We have:
- Posters, lithographs, and bookmarks -- all free of charge. Most have activities, worksheets, or general information on the reverse side.
- A wide assortment of NASA videos, with over 300 titles from the NASA archives.
- A large variety of NASA CD's and audio tapes.
- Large variety of NASA curricular materials, including lessons and hands-on student activities for all age levels.
- Hundreds of NASA slides, many of which accompany lessons and hands-on activities. Each slide has a written description for teacher use.
- Free assisted Internet service for information searches and to view NASA educational web sites.
Facts:
- Both teachers and non-teachers are always welcome to preview any of the materials of the ERC.
- Informational and content based presentations are available to teachers and/or student groups. These can be arranged either on-site or in the schools.
- In-service teacher workshops are available on a wide variety of topics. These can be arranged either on-site or in the schools.
- Many of the NASA materials are free for the taking at the NASA ERC; others are on a check-out/loan basis; and still others are for copying only. Check with the ERC to determining the status of any materials you might be interested in.
- Materials are available to visitors to the ERC OR via telephone orders OR via e-mail orders.
- The only charges assessed by the ERC are duplicating costs (when required), postage and shipping costs, and replacement costs (e.g., VCR tapes for video copying).
