Clare Maguire

Clare Maguire earned her M.Ed and Specialist degrees from the University of Missouri, St. Louis. She has all of her course work completed in the doctoral program. Clare retired from the public system in June, 2003 as a thirty year veteran and has been doing consulting work in education since then.

During her tenure in the public schools, she was known as a "hands-on" principal. Under her leadership as principal of Pond Elementary School, the school was recognized three times as a Missouri Gold Star School and twice recognized by the United States Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. Her focus on staff development propelled Pond Elementary School to the Top Ten List for Sustained Performance on the MAP Tests in Science, Math, Communication Arts and Health. She has made numerous, local, state and national presentations. She has been featured in the book, Ten Traits of Effective Principals and in the The Elementary Principal magazine. While still a school principal, she worked directly with NASA in developing and writing instructional units for use by elementary students. She has since been to Marshall Space Flight Center to receive further training. She is a dynamic and vibrant educator with a contagious excitement regarding the Missouri NASA Education Program.
