PrefaceThe purpose of this Guide is to assist in the development, review, and refinement of the various programs offered by the University. It provides faculty members, department chairpersons, and curriculum committee members with the overall guidelines for designing degree programs, majors, minors, and courses. It also provides a description of the review processes and procedures followed to obtain approval for their proposals. These guidelines suggest a format that college and university-wide curricular review bodies may use in their deliberations on programmatic proposals. By thoughtfully applying these definitions, processes, and procedures, departments and colleges can enhance the overall effort of the institution to bring coherence to its curriculum.Office of the Provost
