POSITION:                              Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Accounting, Rank of Assistant Professor or Instructor (ABD).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:               Primary teaching opportunities in financial, accounting information systems, tax, not-for-profit, and/or auditing. Effective teaching and scholarly accomplishments consistent with the teacher-scholar model and AACSB accreditation. Involvement with university and professional service.  Normal teaching load is 9 hours per semester and may involve ITV and on-line instruction.  Position is available August 2008.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:                REQUIRED: PhD/DBA in Accounting (ABD considered), strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated potential for very effective teaching and high quality scholarly work; demonstrated commitment to working with multicultural populations, and awareness of issues affecting women and minorities.

 

                                                PREFERRED: Professional certification, practical business/accounting experience, and/or experience working with external constituencies.

THE DEPARTMENT:              Approximately 1,400 business majors in the College. The Department of Accounting and MIS has business majors in Accounting, Administrative Systems Management, Management Information Systems and supports the Business Education major offered through the College of Education.  The Department’s eighteen full-time regular faculty members also support the MBA program.  The Harrison College of Business is AACSB accredited.
