POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

 

 

POSITION:  Southeast Missouri State University invites applications for a non-tenure-track, renewable Instructor position in Sociology in the Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology.  Review of applications will begin on December 1, 2007, and will continue until the position is filled.   

 

DATE:  Position available August 2008.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Applicant should be able to teach introduction to sociology, criminology, social problems, and minority relations and statistics at the undergraduate level. Southeast Missouri State University strongly emphasizes distance education, and the selected candidate will be required to teach courses through both web-based and Interactive Television (ITV).

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  A master’s degree in sociology, criminology or related field, a demonstrated commitment to the teacher/scholar model and a demonstrated commitment to working with multicultural population and awareness of issues affecting women and minorities. Prior teaching experience.  Experience in teaching web-based or interactive television courses.

 

SALARY:  Commensurate with professional experience and qualifications.
