Position Announcement
POSITION: Animal Physiologist.
Tenure track Assistant Professor of Biology. Application Deadline:
DATE: Position available for August 2010
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching responsibilities will include
upper-division animal physiology, participation in non-majors courses in human
anatomy and physiology, as well as other majors and non-majors courses. Undergraduate advising of biology majors and
Biomedical Scholars is expected. The
successful candidate will be expected to develop a research program in animal
physiology involving undergraduate and masters students.
QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. required. Evidence of active research in modern animal
physiology with the potential to engage Southeast students in significant
research activities must be presented. Demonstrated
commitment to working with multicultural populations and awareness of issues
affecting women and minorities.
SALARY: Commensurate with professional

THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Biology includes 23
full- and part-time faculty serving over 600 undergraduate and graduate majors.
The department offers a BS in Biology
with options in 6 areas of study and a BS in Education degrees for
undergraduates and a Master of Natural Sciences Degree in Biology. The department is a leader in providing
experiential learning opportunities for undergraduates through research and
internships. The department provides
support courses for many programs including Nursing, Health and Human Performance,
and Environmental Science.
