POSITION:                                           Tenure-track faculty position in Elementary Education with rank of Assistant Professor (terminal degree) or Instructor (ABD).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:                          Southeast Missouri State University has an award winning teacher preparation program in which faculty are involved with pre-service teachers in K-6 schools throughout the 4 year teacher education program.  All faculty members teach the equivalent of 12 hours per semester and maintain active scholarly work in their field.  Position is available August 2008.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:                             REQUIRED:  PhD/EdD in Elementary Education or a related field (ABD considered); strong communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated potential for very effective teaching and high quality scholarly work; demonstrated commitment to working with multicultural populations; and experience working with children and their families in a K-6 school setting. 

                                                                Background and experience in Reading or Special Education is plus.
