POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
POSITION: Assistant Professor,
Foundations Coordinator, full time, tenure-track.
DATE: Position available August 2008. Screening
begins January 31, 2008, and continues until the position is filled.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach studio Foundations
classes in Drawing, 2-Design, Color. Coordinate
and supervise the Foundations Program, 2-D and 3-D within a comprehensive BFA
degree program.
Oversee foundations curriculum, participate in Department, College and
University committee work and service, advise students and work for the good of
the entire Department, College & University. Maintain professional
exhibition record and creative research.
QUALIFICATIONS: MFA, professionally active artist, successful experience teaching full-time, university-level in Foundations
area beyond graduate school. Solid skills in and successful
teaching of Drawing and Color Theory essential. Involvement
in Art Foundations curriculum & student assessment, as well as involvement
in professional Art Foundations organizations. Excellent written and oral
communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to working with multicultural populations
and awareness of issues affecting women and minorities. Demonstrated commitment to
public and university service. Demonstrated commitment to the teacher/scholar model.
SALARY: Commensurate with
professional experience and qualifications.
