POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

 

Position:          Musical Theatre Director/Acting Assistant Professor of Theatre & Dance (tenure track).

 

Date:               Position available August 1, 2010.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

·        Teach all levels of music theatre performance, acting, and directing. 

·        Direct one musical a year and/or one play.

·        Supervise, coach, and coordinate cabarets, juries, and showcases.

·        Mentor BFA musical theatre & acting majors.

·        Assist Department with coordination of annual recruitment campaign.

·        Serve on Department and University committees as required.

·        Teach and/or direct a load equivalent to 12 hours per semester.

·        Creative professional development, excellent teaching and service expected.

 

Required Qualifications:

·        MFA in musical theatre, acting, or directing; or Ph.D. with significant professional experience.

·        Demonstrated dedication to the teacher/artist model.

·        Demonstrated commitment to working with multicultural populations and awareness of issues affecting women and minorities.

·        Professional background with national/regional companies and membership in SSDC, AEA, and/or SAG.
