POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

 

Position:          Dance Instructor/Choreographer, Renewable NTT

 

Date:               Position available August 1, 2010.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

·        Teach all levels of modern, ballet, ballroom, swing, and choreography.  Ability also to teach any of the following: movement analysis, dance history, theatre and/or dance appreciation, acting for the non-major, and a general education class in creativity. 

·        Serve as a regular choreographer in studio dance concerts.

·        Mentor BFA dance & musical theatre majors and student choreographers.

·        Attend BFA juries.

·        Assist Department with coordination of annual recruitment campaign.

·        Serve on Department and University committees as required.

·        Teach and/or choreograph load equivalent to 15 hours per semester.

·        Excellent teaching and service expected.

 

Required Qualifications:

·        MFA in dance

·        Professional experience as a choreographer and dancer in the field of dance and/or musical theatre.

·        Demonstrated commitment to working with multicultural populations and awareness of issues affecting women and minorities.

·        Significant professional experience with nationally renowned companies and artists.
