Thunder in the Valley: Price's Defeat, September 27, 1864 by Bryce A. Sudrow
Details the activities of General Sterling Price as he moved 12,000 Confederate troops into Missouri. This was the largest cavalry command ever assembled by the Confederacy. The invasion culminated in a major battle at Pilot Knob. (1986, 166 pages).
