Purpose: This curriculum is designed for persons who plan to complete an Associate of Arts Degree at Jefferson College and then transfer to Southeast Missouri State University to complete a Bachelor of Arts Degree. The Associate of Arts Degree fulfills the lower division University Studies requirement.

The B.A. in French or Spanish requires the completion of 36 credit hours of foreign languages courses and 3 hours of Civilization/Culture.  A minor, consisting of 15 to 21 credit hours, is required on the B.A. degree.  In addition, students must complete entrance and exit requirements for the major in the Department (for details please contact the Department of Foreign Languages).

The Department encourages all foreign language majors to consider study abroad and internship opportunities.

Courses should be selected so that they meet the degree requirement for a minimum of 30 hours of senior college (300-500 level) courses.
