HISTORY
Purpose: This curriculum is designed for persons who plan to complete an Associate of Arts Degree at Jefferson College and then transfer to Southeast Missouri State University to complete a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. The Associate of Arts Degree fulfills the lower division University Studies requirements. The purpose of the Bachelor of Arts in History degree is to further students knowledge of History and to develop the skills necessary to become a professional historian. Students completing this degree may use it to prepare for advanced study in history, law or humanities leading to a teaching career in higher education or to other professional endeavors. Businesses utilize the research, organizational and writing skills engendered by the study of history.
A minor is required for this degree.
12 hours in a single foreign language required for Bachelor of Arts degree in History.
