A.A. DEGREE TO B.S. DEGREE
COMMUNICATION DISORDERS
Purpose: This curriculum is designed for students who plan to complete an Associate of Arts Degree at Rend Lake College and transfer to Southeast Missouri State University to complete a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders Degree. The Associate of Arts Degree fulfills the lower division University Studies requirement. The goal of this degree program is to provide a common set of learning experiences that characterize the breadth and diversity of the discipline. Students should plan to pursue the master’s degree as it is the entry-level degree for practice in the discipline.
The Department of Communication Disorders has a formal admission process for majors.
No minor is required for Communication Disorders majors; however, a student has the option of taking courses which are required by the Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education for certification as a speech-language specialist in the Missouri public schools.
