A.A. DEGREE TO B.A. DEGREE
MASS COMMUNICATION - JOURNALISM OPTION
Purpose: This curriculum is designed for students who plan to complete an Associate of Arts degree at Rend Lake College and then transfer to Southeast Missouri State University to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree. The Associate of Arts degree fulfills the lower division University Studies requirement. The program establishes a solid foundation for a variety of careers, including computer assisted reporting, copy editing, investigative reporting, sports writing, and publication layout and design.
Courses
in bold print are requirements of the Bachelor of Science in Mass
Communication/Journalism. To complete this articulated program,
students must have a grade of "C" or better in these courses and to transfer
directly into the College of Liberal Arts, students must have completed
their Associate of Arts degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater.
