A.A. DEGREE TO B.S. DEGREE
CHEMISTRY

Purpose: This curriculum is designed for persons who plan to complete an Associate of Science Degree at Shawnee Community College and then transfer to Southeast Missouri State University to complete a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry Degree. The Associate of Science Degree fulfills the lower division University Studies requirement.  This degree program prepares students for positions as professional chemists or post-graduate studies in chemistry.  Chemists employed by government agencies or private industry are typically involved in product development, industrial quality control, analysis and testing, environmental compliance, research, technical sales/marketing/services, or technical consulting.  Other career options related to chemistry include patent law, information retrieval, medical technology, pollution control and monitoring, and industrial hygiene.

NOTE:  Students could elect to complete their organic chemistry at Shawnee College by taking CHE211 and CHE212.  Consult advisor.
