A.A. TO B.A. DEGREE
HISTORY
Purpose: This curriculum is designed for persons who plan to complete an Associate of Arts Degree at Southwestern Illinois College and then transfer to Southeast Missouri State University to complete a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. The Associate of Arts Degree fulfills the lower division University Studies requirements. The purpose of a Bachelor of Arts degree in History is to further student's knowledge of history and to develop the skills necessary to become a professional historian. Students completing this degree may use it to prepare for advanced study in history, law or humanities leading to a teaching career in higher education or to other professional endeavors. Businesses utilize the research, organizational and writing skills engendered by the study of history.
12 hours in a single foreign language required for the Bachelor of Arts Degree in History.
A minor is required for this degree.
