A.A. TO B.A. DEGREE
MASS COMMUNICATION - MEDIA STUDIES OPTION
Purpose: This curriculum is designed for students who plan to complete an Associate of Arts degree at Southwestern Illinois College and then transfer to Southeast Missouri State University to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree. The Associate of Arts degree fulfills the lower division University Studies requirement. The Media Studies option is not designed as a professional degree program but is excellent preparation for graduate education in mass communication law.
Courses in bold print are requirements of the Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication/Media Studies. To complete this articulated program, students must have a grade of "C" or better in these courses and to transfer directly into the College of Liberal Arts, students must have completed their Associate of Arts degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater.
