A.A. TO B.S.E. DEGREE
PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Purpose: This curriculum is designed for students who plan to complete an Associate of Arts degree at Southwestern Illinois College and then transfer to Southeast Missouri State University to complete a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in secondary education.  The Associate of Arts degree fulfills the lower division University Studies requirement.  Courses in bold are certification or degree requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Education degree which can be fulfilled on the A.A.

Students must be admitted to Teacher Education prior to entry into Block II of the junior year.

SOUTHEAST MISSOURI STATE UNIVERSITY

Prior to enrolling in specific courses at Southeast, it is essential that the student should consult with an academic advisor from the Physical Education Department.  This is particularly important due to the fact that certain courses are only offered in either the fall or spring semesters and coordination is required between education block courses and physical education courses.  The possibility of an additional certification to teach health should also be discussed.
