A.A. TO B.S. DEGREE
MASS COMMUNICATION - PUBLIC RELATIONS OPTION
Purpose: This curriculum is designed for students who plan to complete an Associate of Arts degree at Southwestern Illinois College and then transfer to Southeast Missouri State University to complete a Bachelor of Science degree. The Associate of Arts degree fulfills the lower division University Studies requirement. The program establishes a solid foundation for a variety of careers, including camera operator, ENG operator, field production unit member, master control operator, producer, post-production manager, script writer, and documentary film producer.
Courses in bold print are requirements of the Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication/Public Relations. To complete this articulated program, students must have a grade of "C" or better in these courses and to transfer directly into the College of Liberal Arts, students must have completed their Associate of Arts degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater.
