The Dr. R. Ferrell Ervin
Award for Excellence in Teaching award was created by Student Government
to memorialize the late chairperson of the Communication Department, Dr.
R. Ferrell Ervin.
Awards are limited to two per year, and are based on the following factors: Ø instructional ability Ø ability to communicate effectively Ø ability to relate to students Ø use of instructional technology Ø approachability Ø availability outside of the classroom Ø involvement with or sponsorship of student organizations.
All assistant, associate, and full professors are eligible to receive the award. Selection for the award is made by a student committee. Student Government is currently seeking student applicants for the selection committee, as well as faculty nominations for the award. All forms are due by March 27, 2009.
